Reading the West Book Award Nomination - 36th Annual

By purchasing a nomination for a title, you are confirming that you have read and understand the CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:

• Titles must be originally published in 2025.
• Books must be predominantly set in/or about the MPIBA Region, and/or the work of authors or illustrators who currently live in one of the states of the MPIBA region:
  • Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wyoming
• Books must be available for bookstores to purchase for resale through mainstream distribution or wholesale channels at standard retail terms:
  • 40% wholesale discount or better.
  • Fully returnable.
  • Mainstream distribution includes publisher distributors, Ingram wholesale, IPG, Bookazine, and others-- Amazon and Barnes & Noble are NOT wholesale distributors.
• You must be able to ship finished copies of the nominated title to each member of the category Reading Committee no later than 02/01/26.
  • You will receive committee member names and addresses in December.

Books that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered for the shortlist and NO REFUNDS will be issued. If you are unsure if you book qualifies, contact info@mountainsplains.org with inquiries before submitting your nomination.
