Board of Directors

The Mountains & Plains Independent Booksellers Association (MPIBA) is governed by a nine-member board of directors that includes booksellers and representatives from the book industry. Board members work at Active Bookstore or Industry Member companies. Members serve three-year terms (up to two consecutive), and our officers (president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary) serve two-year terms in those offices. New board members are elected each fall on a rolling basis as current terms expire. MPIBA members are asked to suggest people to serve on the board, then the current board nominates candidates from that list. Those candidates are then confirmed by a vote of MPIBA voting members (one per bookstore or organization).
