Left on Read is Wichita’s independent, Black-owned bookstore and the only Black-owned bookstore in Kansas. The shop centers books by Black authors across genres and age groups, grounded in the belief that stories shape how we understand ourselves and the world. Left on Read is also home to The Millennial Black Professor® and TMBP Media, connecting literature and storytelling to wellbeing, civic engagement, and joy, in service of the mission to amplify representation, cultivate perspective, and empower community. A LIT experience for the culture.
