A joint marketing campaign

from CALIBA, MPIBA, and PNBA

Reach 300,000+ independent bookstore customers!

Bookstore customers have proven this past year, without a doubt, that they will find and support their indie store — whether visiting the store in person, or browsing and buying from a store’s e-commerce platform. The Great Summer Reading Guide encourages sales on both fronts. The campaign will introduce a selection of the season’s fresh new titles to entice a trip to the store or a click and trip to the mailbox. It’s a win for booklovers, booksellers, and advertisers!

Program Basics:
  • Two email newsletters sent to indie bookstore customers across the entire western United States, powered by Shelf Awareness.
  • The artfully designed emails will be filled with a fantastic selection of titles promoted by YOU, our publishing partners.
  • A sample of last year’s Summer Reading Guide email can be found HERE.
  • The emails will be personalized for each participating bookstore with store logo, contact information, and BUY BUTTONS linking to the store’s preferred e-commerce site.
  • The regions will promote the advertised titles and the Summer Reading Guide through social media (MPIBA will promote through a public-facing website readingthewest.com, and public facing social media accounts).
  • We’ll provide matching downloadable and digital marketing assets for use on participating bookstore websites, social media, newsletters, and in-store displays.
  • The program is a completely free, turnkey marketing opportunity for indie bookstores.
