Jackson Hole Book Trader
Jackson Hole Book Trader is a locally owned independent bookstore located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We provide locals and visitors with new and used books that inform and inspire. We are a place where readers find their next story and where writers find their audience. For twenty years, we have been a Jackson institution and a community gathering place in an eclectic and relaxed space. Dean Stayner opened the store in 1998, building his shelving by hand and stocking it with second-hand and collectible books. He eventually added new books to the store’s offerings, ushered it into the internet age, and brought on board longtime manager Brook Redwine in 2000. Part of the fabric of the bookstore ever since, Brook also managed the store for owners Cynthia and Allison Parker starting in 2008.
In 2017 book lover, longtime local and former store employee Susie Temple purchased the store. Realizing her vision for a community bookstore, Susie updated the store’s interior and its collection while maintaining its reputation for fantastic books in a welcoming space. On any given day, you may find Susie, Brook, or other book-loving staff behind the desk welcoming you. If you’re lucky, you may also become acquainted with Louie the bookstore dog (he’s a St.Bernard/Australian Shepherd mix). Books bring people together. They tell our stories, show us the world, and take our visitors (and ourselves) deeper into the many layers of Jackson and the West.
