In order to be considered for the 32nd Annual Reading the West Book Awards, submissions must meet the following criteria:
-The book must have been originally published in 2021.
-Books must be the work of authors or illustrators who live or work in the MPIBA region and/or are set in the region. (Region includes: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.)
-The book must be available through mainstream distribution channels at standard rates (40% or better) and be fully returnable. Ideally, books will also be available via mainstream wholesale channels.
-The person submitting or the publisher (if different) must be able to provide complimentary reading copies (approximately 5-15) to our bookseller reading committees. Copies must be available to mail by January 14, 2022.
-The person submitting or the publisher (if different) must pay the $150 nomination fee.
Failure of books to meet nomination criteria will result in removal from long-list, and no refunds will be issued. If you have any questions about whether or not your book qualifies, please email firstname.lastname@example.org before submitting.
