Greetings Booksellers!

You are cordially invited to attend the Spring Meeting in Denver, Colorado on Friday, March 23, 2012. Join ABA CEO Oren Teicher and Joy Dallangra-Sanger of the ABA staff for a day of education, lunch, and open discussion. The day will be capped with an MPIBA presentation and an MPIBA Author Mixer with a number of local authors from around the region.

This meeting offers booksellers an opportunity to gather in an intimate setting and delve into the current topics in our industry. It also provides a forum to discuss the tools available to us, if they are working, who is succeeding with them and why, and mostly educate, learn from, and enjoy the company of fellow booksellers.

This Spring Meeting is free and open to all booksellers, ABA member, MPIBA members, and non-members as well.

Agenda:

11:00am – 12:30pm
The Best of Winter Institute 7’s
Best Practices Sessions

The 2012 Winter Institute featured a series of 12 half-hour “Best Practices” sessions on everything from children’s bookselling, human resources, and Google Analytics to marketing your store as a digital location, empowering your indie business alliance, and more. The presentation of “The Best of the Best” is a roundup of booksellers’ top tips from Wi7.

12:30pm – 2:30pm
ABA Booksellers Forum

CEO Oren Teicher will lead an open forum and discussion of industry issues. Attendees help guide the agenda of the forum, so please come with questions and comments.

2:30pm – 3:00pm
MPIBA Programming

MPIBA Board President, Andrea Avantaggio, will also lead a discussion regarding Mountains & Plains current programing. Again, this is an open discussion so please feel free to bring any questions you may have.
