2007 “SPIRIT OF THE WEST” LITERARY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The “Spirit of the West” Literary Achievement Award, established by Mountains & Plains in 1992, is presented to an author whose books embody the spirit of our region.

The 2007 recipient of this prestigious award is LINDA HOGAN, whose impressive awards include: Mean Spirit (finalist for the Pulitzer prize) ~ Seeing Through the Sun (the American Book Award) ~ The Book of Medicines (finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award) ~ Solar Storms (Colorado Book Award) ~ The Woman Who Watches Over The World: A Native Memoir (Wordcraft Circle Writer of the Year/Creative Prose). Ms. Hogan’s newest title from W.W. Norton & Co. is Dwellings: A Spiritual History of the Living World.
