LITERACY GRANT APPLICATION

The Mountains & Plains Independent Booksellers Association annually presents grants of $500 - $1,000 to support non-profit literacy programs in our region. Applications must be received by August 1 and should be sent to the address below. All applicants will receive notification of disposition of grant monies by September 30.

Describe your organization, its history and past and current programming. Please include a detailed description of the event or program for which you are requesting the grant. Description should incorporate the following information:

1.Is this a first-time effort? Ongoing?

2.Date of the proposed event or program.

3.Number of people who will benefit.

4.Community support anticipated. Number of volunteers involved.

5.Does this program benefit people with minimum literacy skills? How?

6.What are the anticipated short and long term effects of this program?

7.Is funding being sought from other sources? What are they? Has funding been received or promised from other sources?

8.Documentation of the results of this program is required by MPIBA as a condition of receiving the grant. How do you propose to provide MPIBA with this information and by what date?
