MPIBA membership is open to current and prospective booksellers, as well as publishers, wholesalers, and their representatives having regularly conducted business with booksellers in the MPIBA region, agents, publicists, and non-book vendors.

  • Free listing on the MPIBA website of your store’s address with e-mail and link to your website.
  • Free admission for active member stores to the Fall Trade Show.
  • Free promotional materials for the Regional Book Awards.
  • Handbook that provides detailed information on member stores; lists names, addresses, territories and publishers for sales representatives in our region. Members may download the Handbook in PDF format or may order a print copy.
  • Timely e-News – the MPIBA office keeps members up to date on MPIBA matters and critical industry news via e-communication at least once a week, and more often if indicated.
  • Direct access to a strong book community whose goals and concerns reflect your own.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND DUES:

The membership year runs from July through June. New members joining December through

June will pay pro-rated dues of $60.00.

Core Members. Dues are $100.00 per year.

An independent, privately-owned business whose primary source of income is derived from the retail sale of books or other printed materials. These are voting members and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. Trade Show badges are free.

Bookseller Associate Members. Dues are $100.00 per year.

For prospective booksellers, chain bookstores, and bookstores headquartered outside the MPIBA region. These are not voting members, and may not serve on the Board of Directors. Trade Show badges are $35 per person.

Publishers and Book Industry Professionals

  • Your membership in MPIBA will put you in touch with a broad spectrum of independent booksellers and give you ready access to a network of industry professionals through our Trade Show, e-communications, website, Handbook, and various mailings throughout the year.
  • Discounts on bookseller member list rental and mailing labels.
  • Discounts on Fall Trade Show booth*, Trade Show Directory ads, Handbook ads, and website and e-news ads.
  • Listing in the member section of the MPIBA Handbook.
  • Direct access to independent booksellers in the MPIBA region.

(*Professional and Associate Members not exhibiting at the Trade Show receive free admission for two people. Additional badges are $35.00 each.)
