MPIBA membership is open to booksellers in our region (Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming), as well as to publishers, wholesalers, and sales reps.
Eligible to join as associate members are prospective booksellers, bookstores outside our region, authors, sidelines/gift companies, agents, publicists, associations, and other non-book vendors.

-Free admission to the Fall Trade Show for active member stores and their employees.
-Free promotional materials for the Reading The West program.
-Buzzaboutbooks.com – this new consumer-facing website helps to drive traffic to member bookstores’ websites by listing and helping you sell your inventory of signed author copies.
-BOYB – Bring on Your Books! is a new advertising program in which your dues payment is waived when you commit to placing a publisher ad in your electronic newsletter.
-e-Communiques – MPIBA not only tweets and posts like crazy these days, but we keep members up to date on Association matters and critical industry news via e-Communiques including the Regional Indie Bestsellers list, e-blasts for project updates, and e-Newsletters for general information about the Association, its membership, and industry news.
-Direct access to a strong book community whose goals and concerns reflect your own.
MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND DUES:
The membership year runs from July through June. New members joining December through June will pay pro-rated dues of $60.00.
Core Members. Dues are $100.00 per year.
An independent, privately-owned business whose primary source of income is derived from the retail sale of books or other printed materials. These are voting members and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. Trade Show badges are free.
Bookseller Associate Members. Dues are $100.00 per year.
For prospective booksellers, chain bookstores, and bookstores headquartered outside the MPIBA region. These are not voting members, and may not serve on the Board of Directors. Trade Show badges are $35 per person. |

-Your membership in MPIBA will put you in touch with a broad spectrum of independent booksellers and give you ready access to a network of industry professionals through our Trade Show, e-communications, website, and other special projects throughout the year.
-Discounts on bookseller member list rental and mailing labels.
-Discounts on Fall Trade Show booth, Trade Show Directory ads, e-blast ads, website ads, and e-newsletter ads.
-Upcoming listing in the member section of the online databases.
-Direct access to independent booksellers in the MPIBA region.

Professional Members. Dues are $150.00 per year.
Publishers, wholesalers, and their sales representatives who regularly conduct business with booksellers in the MPIBA region. These are voting members and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.
Industry Associate Members. Dues are $150.00 per year.
Authors, sidelines/gift companies, agents, publicists, associations, and other non-book vendors. These are not voting members, and may not serve on the Board of Directors. |
